New Brides Aren’t The Only Ones To Get New Rings!

A unique diamond wedding ring using the original rope bands and diamond center stone.

When I go to wedding showers, I come home and want to re-do my entire house.  New towels, cute serving pieces, color coordinated bedding sets.  After 25+ years of marriage, my collection of housewares could use an overhaul!

That happens with jewelry too.  When your adult child gets engaged, suddenly your trusty old wedding set starts to look, well, tired.  It’s still shines (when you clean the layers of hand lotion off of it), and of course, you’ll always remember when he gave you that rock (set in a simple diamond solitaire mounting, because who had money when you’re 21).  It’s just that, well, your style has changed a bit.

Enter Scott’s Custom Jewelers.  Restyling wedding rings is kind of our specialty.

Theresa was ready for a restyle. When her son invited her to go shopping for an engagement ring for his soon to be fiance, she decided that it was time to update her wedding look too.  She didn’t want to replace her ring, just bring it up to date, style-wise, and maybe add a little more bling.

She was referred to Scott by relatives (thanks Dana!) and we got to work.  It was important for her to keep her original round diamond center.  And she and her husband had matching rope style wedding rings that she wanted to incorporate into the piece.  We sat down with both of them and got to work.

Her original wedding set had two 14k yellow gold rope rings that went on either side of her engagement ring.  We decided to weld the two together and make a wider center for her custom wedding ring.  We them “pumped up” the look of her center diamond with a custom diamond halo.  It made her stone appear so much bigger, but for much less money than a new center stone.  We used delicate bead work around the halo to compliment the rope design of the band.

Then, to make the ring look more two tone in terms of color, we added custom diamond bands to the sides of the ring, and set them in 14k white gold.

The new custom wedding ring still maintains the look of her original engagement ring, but it’s matured nicely into a fabulous, high fashion look, appropriate for the mother of the groom.

Theresa loves it – and especially the step-by-step way we created it using our unique CAD (computer aided design) technology.  It eliminates the fear factor in custom jewelry and makes it fun.

Now the entire wedding party will shine!
